My name is Ruby St Onge, and I am a Setter for the class of 2022. I started playing volleyball 4 years ago and each year I compete I love the game more. Each time I step on the court, I am trying to learn something new and improve myself. My goal is to always be the most coachable player I can be. As a setter, I pride myself on being a leader and the person who brings a high level of energy to the game. I am a well rounded volleyball player with a high volleyball IQ. Although my primary position is Setter, my first priority is to the team and I have played both Right Side and DS for my High School volleyball team.
For the past four years, I have been selected and participated on a High Performance National club team in the State of Connecticut and have been fortunate to travel around the country and participate in several National level tournaments as part of my club program. In 2019, I played in the National Qualifier tournament in Washington D.C. and played in the AAU National Championship in Orlando, FL. In addition, I was selected to play for the New England Region Volleyball Association's High Performance Select team and competed at the USAVHP Championships in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
The most important thing that volleyball has tought me is structure and discipline and how to balance school and playing volleyball at a high performance level. My ultimate goal is to find a University that will provide me with the best blend of academics and athletics. I am a Honors student with a 3.87 GPA just finishing my fall semester of my Junior year. I take great pride in the type of teammate I am on and off the court and I look forward to continuing to make lifelong connections through volleyball while continuing my education at the collegiate level.
