My name is Cameron Downs and I'm from Louisville, KY. I attend Mercy Academy, where I'm a Junior, and currently have a 3.9 GPA. I'm a 5'11" setter and play club volleyball for Union 17-2 where I'm currently running a 5-1. I've played volleyball since I was in 1st grade and I've wanted to play in college for as long as I can remember. I've put in a lot of hard work and always strive to do my best. Over the past several years of playing volleyball, I have created many new friendships that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Volleyball has taught me so much about myself and I can't imagine not playing in college. Some of my greatest accomplishments in recent years are making the All-Tournament Team for the 2019 President's Day Tournament and winning the CSAA tournament my 8th-grade year. Not only is volleyball important to me, but so is my education. I've gone to a private Catholic school since I was in Kindergarten. I'm very thankful for my education because I know a lot of people don't get the same experiences that I've had. I want the opportunity to attend a school that has a good Biology or medical program. Biology has been my favorite class and I plan to take AP Biology and Bio-Med in the next two years. On the court, I work very hard, I'm confident, I have good court awareness, I'm mentally tough, and I bring a lot of energy to my team. I love being in the gym, enjoy practices, lessons, conditioning, and anything I can do to better myself and my team. I like to be challenged and want tough coaches that will push me and make me into a better player. I believe coaches that are hard on you want to see you get better and succeed. I'm determined to do anything I need in order to play at the next level. I look forward to talking with you and telling you more about myself and my future goals.
