Personal Statement
I realized my love of volleyball very early when I was in the 1st grade and would pass with my teacher after school. My first season was in 4th grade, and I couldn’t wait. I had played other sports leading up to 4th grade like basketball, baseball and soccer, but I was always the most excited for the volleyball season. As my passion kept growing, I wanted to take it to the next level and try out for club. I was nervous going into it because it was new and tougher competition, but I made the top team at the 11s division my first year as a setter and the youngest on the team. Setting continued to be my main position and I also enjoyed playing right side. However, as I gained experience and learned my strengths, I decided to become libero my Sophomore year of high school. I have always loved defense and being in serve receive, the back row is where I belong on the court. I strive to continue to learn and grow as a person and student-athlete and look forward to pursuing my college career. I welcome the hard work required, am ready and willing to make the commitment and truly love the game.
