Hello coaches! I am Emma Terlaje Barnhart and I currently reside on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, but I consider the U.S. Territory of Guam, my home. I am the middle child born into a humble, loving, hardworking, patriotic military family.
My short term goal after graduating high school is to continue to challenge myself intellectually by pursuing a bachelor’s degree followed closely by earning a master’s degree. Though I am still determining my field of study, my faith gives me comfort that my true interests will reveal itself to me in due time. Growing up in a Marine Corps family has been both a challenging and incredibly rewarding experience. I have moved nine times, attended ten schools, and have built tremendous positive life long relationships. Thanks to my parents' influence, I strive to be humble, authentic, resilient, intellectually curious, and never forget who I am.
I discovered my love and passion for the game of volleyball during my fifth grade year while stationed in Okinawa, Japan and I have been playing competitively ever since. I have accrued thirteen seasons of volleyball that span elementary to high school, travel club, and outside leagues. I am honored to currently serve as the floor captain for my high school varsity volleyball team and hold a 4.0 grade point average.
It is my sincerest hope that you will find in me enough desirable character traits, academic potential, and athletic talent to have an opportunity to compete for a chance to be part of your school as a student athlete.
Very respectfully,
Emma T. Barnhart
