Rachel Myrick '18 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing volleyball since I was 11 years old. Ever since I stepped on the court, I knew that I would want to play at the collegiate level. I am very coachable and strive to improve all of my skills whenever possible. I am very driven when it comes to learning anything new and work to perfect and push my capabilities. 

When it comes to playing on the court, I am very competitive and do not shy away from the ball or a tough play. I always sprint and push myself to reach the ball each time and am very quick to react and decide what would be best. On the rare occasion where I cannot make a perfect pass, I make sure that I play it very high and towards the middle of the court to allow for recovery. I have been told that I have an amazing serve, both jump and overhand, as well as the ability to jump very high to be able to block despite my height. I help inspire and motivate my teammates to improve their skills on and off the court.

I work hard on my academics and maintain good grades as well as participate in multiple extracurricular activities. I want to attend a college where I can push myself academically and athletically. I am very open to different types of colleges that provide great academic, extracurricular, and athletic diversity at competitive or semi-competitive levels. I feel that I would be a great fit for any team and will be able to learn and inspire others to do their best.
