Every day I wake up and am excited to connect high school athletes with the resources they need to play and exceed in collegiate athletics. This job has provided an opportunity for me to talk sports with likeminded people and figure out the best approach to getting them into the best situation for each individual. I originally am from the Dayton area of Ohio but moved to Chicago at a young age. My parents tell me I told all my kindergarten buddies I was on my way to meet and hang out with Michael Jordan. Still waiting, Mike. I went to Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois, where I immediately discovered that I was not athletic enough to keep up with some of my teammates.
Although I actually spent a lot of time on the theater stage in high school, I was always leading the student section in supporting my friends on the field. I played every rec league sport imaginable at the University of Missouri with my fraternity brothers and coached many of their teams as well. I can be found on my off days cheering on the Cubbies from the bleachers of the friendly confines or the Hawks and Bulls at the UC. Although I grew up in Chicago, my football loyalty lies with the Cheeseheads of Green Bay. Something about that Brett Favre era sparked my love of football and from there it grew to all of sports. I truly cannot imagine a more perfect job for myself, as I can genuinely say I feel wonderful walking out at the end of the day knowing I helped in creating possibilities for athletes across all sports, divisions and fields of study.
