I was a 3-year college athlete competing in Tennis at the University of Puerto Rico D3 University
As a young girl, I developed a love for Volleyball and played 4 years in high school as a setter. I really like the competitive aspect of the game and developed good team player ethics.
As a grew older, my Dad loved the game of Tennis, so on weekends when I had no tournaments or practice to attend with my volleyball team, I began to play Tennis with my Dad at our neighborhood course. Very quickly I began to love both sports but realized I was better at Tennis than volleyball.
Lucky for me the coach from the University of Puerto Rico saw me play with my Dad one day and liked what they saw. They approached me and asked me “How would you like to play for the university team”? I played the second racket for 3 years and loved it. But I always remember how lucky I was to be discovered!
Moral of the story fast forward to today… loving multiple sports and with the competition level so fierce in all sports, having the internet as a resource is a dream come true!!
