I was a two-year varsity starter on the football field at Kaukauna High School, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, as wide receiver and safety. I was named team captain my senior year. That senior year, I was named All-Conference, All-Area and All-Region in Wisconsin as a wide receiver. As a defensive back, I was named All-Conference. I hold all school records for receiving in a single season for receptions, yards and touchdowns. Along with football, I was a four-year letter winner in track and field. My junior year, I was a Wisconsin State qualifier and participant in the high jump. Through the recruiting process, I had the benefit to receive interest from Division 2, Division 3 and NAIA programs throughout the Midwest. The decision to attend Lawrence University came down to staying close to home to be with family. While at Lawrence University, I played football and ran track and field. The 2008 season, my freshman year, I made my debut as a starter in the first game of the year against Monmouth College. I went on to start for the rest of the season for the Vikings at wide receiver. My sophomore year, I started each game at wide receiver and got time as a kick returner and punt returner. My junior year, I was named team captain and recorded my first multi-touchdown game against St. Norbert’s. My senior year, I was named a team captain and recorded the second longest touchdown in school history (94 yards) in the first game of the season. I finished my career at Lawrence University as a four-year starter at wide receiver, a two-time team captain and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. The opportunity to get a meaningful education and to continue playing football into college was the ultimate success.
