I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, spending most of my time playing sports, specifically as a defenseman and long-stick midfielder on my high school lacrosse team, and punter on the football team, while also participating with the school’s speech team, competing in the “Radio Speaking” event.

Although my athletic career ended in high school, my love of sports translated into my area of study when I attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television, and Digital Media, specializing in Electronic Sports Media, and a minor in Speech and Communication. After graduating, I spent the next four years working at the local ABC TV station in southern Illinois, WSIL-TV, as a Sports Reporter and weekend Sports Anchor, covering all the local high school sports, while also getting to cover the sports of my alma mater. After my TV news career ended, I began working a variety of sales jobs, but was aching to get my career focus back to sports, which led me to finding NCSA.

My favorite part about working at NCSA is getting to meet a wide range of student-athletes and their families, and helping them to find the right fit for them to continue playing the sport they love in college while furthering their education. Another thing I enjoy about my job is that it opens the doors for me as a sports fanatic to become a fan of more teams through the connections I’ve made personally with these student-athletes.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending my time watching and talking about sports on my weekly podcast, as well as hiking and camping with my wife and our two dogs, Scout and Buehrle.
