Growing up I had two main interests: playing sports and technology. Once my athletic talents stalled after high school, my focus switched from playing sports to working with technology. While originally pursuing a degree in accounting, I stumbled into a job on the IT team for the University of Illinois athletic department. Working in that position made me realize I wanted a career in IT.
I applied to NCSA almost a decade ago and have been here ever since. My goal as the Director of Information Technology is to make sure the entire NCSA team has the tools they need to most effectively help our student-athletes and coaches. There are a lot of places you can work in IT, but there are not many places that allow you to see the positive impact your work can have on people’s lives on a day to day basis.
